How does a Prepaid Plan work?



Requirements:


  • To sign up for a PhoneBox number, you will need a credit card or a debit card. International credit card is also accepted.


All PhoneBox's prepaid plans offer unlimited Canada-wide calling and international text messaging. If you choose a prepaid account, you don't need to worry about the billing cycle. The prepaid duration plan is 30 days, and it is not possible to recover your phone number after your service is terminated.


Different from the monthly account, your prepaid number will expire after 30 days. You can extend the service and keep the same number. To do it, you have a few options:


  • Reply to our text message regarding the plan extension
  • Use self-service on our website or app
  • At our store

Case example


Jennifer got her Canadian number at our Vancouver store on Apr 15th. She chose a prepaid plan. She was informed that her service would end on May 14th accordingly. If she would like to keep using the service, she will need to extend it by May 14th.


Jennifer used her phone number to create an online self-serve account on the website. After she logged in and clicked "Extend", she did the payment and the services were extended for more 30 days accordingly. So, she could see her term now will end on Jun 13th.



She can also set up auto-payment, so the service will be automatically extended every month by charging her credit card.



Since the data will be cut off after it has been running out for prepaid plan; if she would like to have more data during the term, she can also TopUp 1GB every time to keep the data working.
